Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours?
We see patients by appointment, however our hours are generally 8:00am to 7:30pm Monday through Friday in both our Toms River and Manahawkin locations. When necessary we do adapt our schedule in order to accomodate the varied scheduling needs of our patients.
Do I need to see a physician before starting physical therapy?
No. You are not required to see a physician before initiating physical therapy. Physical therapists are educated, trained and licensed to see patients without a physician's referral. Medicare only requires that your physician certifies your Physical Therapy Plan of Care which your physical therapist will submit to your designated physician immediately following your initial evaluation. Some insurance policies will require a referral and our office staff will determine this during your benefit verification. You may also wish to consult your policy to confirm your policy requirements for coverage.
If it is determined during your evaluation or during the course of treatment that your condition requires further medical attention, you will be referred to an appropriate provider. You will also be referred if you fail to demonstrate reasonable progress after thirty days.
Will my insurance cover my treatment?
The health insurance environment is constantly changing and we make every attempt to participate in a wide range of insurance plans to ensure patient access to our services. We participate in many different insurance networks and you can consult our current list of participating insurance plans. Please be aware that because of the constant changing heatlhcare environment, the best way to determine current eligibility for coverage is by allowing our staff to verify your benefits.
Are physical therapists licensed?
New Jersey requires that all treating physical therapists maintain current licensure.
Will I always see the same physical therapist?
Yes. We believe that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and patient is best served by maintaining continuity of the therapist patient relationship. We also believe that it enhances patient outcomes and current research supports this position. The only exceptions may be in cases of vacations or illness.
How much will it cost?
While each patient's cost of treatment will vary based on the specifics of their treatment plan. Our treatment plans certainly take into account the financial needs of our patients and most can be tailored to any particular patient's needs. Our fee schedule is available upon request.
